IT_MA_Alert
MA Alert
-
The IT_MA_Alert indicator gives you many options. You can select between standard system moving averages, select different sound effects, use arrows on chart, the Alerts Window or both, use your own custom sounds, change arrow size, color, opacity.
Settings shown above.
The indicator alerts when price has crossed a TickNumber setting which defines a zone around the moving average. Once there is an alert there will not be another until the alert is reset. The alert is reset when a price bar closes beyond a reset zone which is also user specified.
Above you see zone lines that trigger alerts (lines not part of indicator).
If you set the TickNumber to zero, the alert will occur at the cross of the moving average as there will be no zone. Click on image below.
Alert at moving average cross.
Output to the Alerts Window is utilized by default but can be disabled. The background color of the alert is colored according to the color settings of the arrows/triangles. This will tell you if the cross is at the top zone line or the bottom zone line. Moving average and chart information is included in the alert as well as your selected sound effect being used.

Being user configurable in every way is neccessary when you would want multiple zones defined. Below you can see how easy it is to visually distinguish between alerts on the chart by setting different sizes, colors and opacities of the markers.
Individual Alerts
5/27/10 - This is now a two indicator package including the new IT_MA_Alert2 which does not plot markers but has multiple alerts on each bar if resets occur. Also better granularity by not requiring full tick size increments. Since IT_MA_Alert2 is meant for audio only (Alerts Window not used and no messages) there is the option for different High and Low alert sounds.
Differences in settings from IT_MA_Alert
IT_MA_Alert is available for NT7 now.
